Welcome to Week #4 of the One Room Challenge! If this is your first time here, welcome! I am redesigning my living room for the ORC where featured designers and guest participants redo a space in 6 weeks!
If you need to catch up, you can review Week #1, Week #2 and Week #3. :) The whole concept for my living room space is to bring in the colors and a vibe of happiness that I felt growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii. I’m creating an open and vibrant space with ocean blue, floral pink, sunset orange, sunrise yellow…..
At the end of last week, I decided on these lamps:
I LOVE the shape of this lamp and the way the base looks like stacked puka shells! How about that for a throwback to Hawaii in the 1970’s! :)
I also made a big decision on the coffee table. As an interior designer, I have access to tons of vendors that offer beautiful coffee tables — but I really wanted something unique and one of a kind. If you are in Lafayette, CA, you may know about a wonderful store called Indigo & Poppy. I&P is my go-to when sourcing decorative accessories for my clients at the end of a room design. The staff is amazing (and lots of fun!). Indigo & Poppy is a furniture and accessory store that carries many vendors, including an exclusive furniture line, called Kolkka.
Kolkka is amazing! Based outside of Napa, CA, and sourced through Indigo & Poppy , with Kolkka, you can customize every piece of furniture on their site. Custom fabrication takes time…but luckily, they are meeting my deadline!
I fell in love with the form of this coffee table:
And I customized the size and finish of the table…there are a ton of options! These are some of the metal finishes that are offered:
There are also gorgeous finish options for Kolkka table tops. These are just a few….
At Week #6, you’ll be able to see the finishes that I chose!
One more thing…often times during an interior design project….things go wrong, items get damaged or are out of stock. In my case, the orange Ikat fabric that I had specified for one of my accent pillows was out of stock. So, I had to reselect and chose this sunny looking replacement from Thibaut Design:
Oh, and this is just one of the most beautiful fabrics offered by Thibaut Design! I carry all of their fabrics in my studio! Let me know if you want to see more!
This is how the project stands to date:
