Welcome to week #3 of the One Room Challenge! I’m thrilled to be participating in the ORC where featured designers and guest designers are challenged to transform a room in 6 weeks!
If this is your first time here, I’m in the process of redoing my living room. Revisit week #1 and week #2 to catch up!
My goal is to preserve the feel of my roots, having been raised in Hawaii with an artist mom and vivacious and creative father. In Hawaii, you are surrounded by the most beautiful colors in nature - you can’t help but feel good! Don’t you love that photo above? It’s quintessential Hawaii! One of my dearest friends snapped that photo while she was making a lei and sent it to me….It epitomizes all of the colors that I love!
This week I’m shopping for colorful accessories that reflect that colorful Hawaii aesthetic for my coffee table and bookshelves. I fell in love with these vases from Crate & Barrel and will be including them in the project!
I love how the colors of the vases reflect the colors of nature and the lei!
I also headed to the framer to have several pieces in my art collection framed, including the beautiful piece by Lanie Mann (see details in Week #1 of the ORC).
Plus, I’m having this painting reframed. I inherited this from my parents (…….my mother loved Native American art as well!) and it has all of the colors that I love. I feel like the frame doesn’t do the piece justice…
Still to do:
Find lamps!
Find a coffee table! This has been the hardest part for me because I’m so picky about coffee tables!
Style bookcases (once the framed art is ready!)
Order fresh flowers for the photo shoot of the reveal!
I am having so much with this project!
Thanks for stopping by!!
