Hi there! Oh my goodness, the last two weeks have been surreal! All of my kids are working from home, along with my husband and me! We are on top of each other as well as irritating each other to no end! This ‘shelter in place’ order is very trying, but we are very grateful to be healthy! (But living with adult kids is HARD!)
Working from home has made me appreciate art even more. I’ve filled my home with original (and many of them are affordable) pieces of art that bring me joy. Now more than ever, during the pandemic, your home needs to be a place that makes you happy and provides respite.
I’m a big believer in purchasing original art, because often times it gains value and it provides a conversation starter! “I chose this piece because….”, “These colors make me happy because…”, “I love abstract paintings, what are you drawn to?”… You get the idea.
There are 3 online sources for art that I absolutely love and I’m excited to share them with you!
1. Well and Wonder Collective
Well + Wonder curates an online gallery of southern art in a price range fit for collectors—those buying their first pieces, and established collectors looking for a fresh perspective. Stocked with original art and artist profiles, it’s a virtual studio tour of the south.
Here are a few of my faves:
2. Artists Collectives
Artists Collectives is an online gallery that provides a platform for local artists to grow their potential and to provide collectors, young or experienced, access to affordable original art. Artists are featured from Nashville, Charleston, Atlanta and other areas.
These pretty pieces caught my eye:
3. Saatchi Art
Saatchi Art provides a beautifully curated site featuring a variety of original art in varying price points. Easy to search by genre, color, size and price. A great place to start your art collection!
These are all under $1000….
For every interior design project, I always say…”start with the art”! It will bring you joy!
