Today's round up is inspired by an artist whose work is showcased on Serena & Lily. The artist is Cari Hernandez. I love the ethereal qualities of this piece. The colors seem to be floating!

Hi there! I recently attended the Design Bloggers Conference and I wanted to share some gorgeous interior design books written by the speakers that inspired me!
None left me more speechless than Miles Redd, interior designer extraordinaire, whose use of the english language left me wanting to read the dictionary and memorize it. He was so effusive, engaging, humorous, enlightening, humble, warm and inspiring. He spoke volumes about his inspiration, interior design process and his beginnings....he had all of us in the audience enraptured when he showed this picture and said... "this was my college apartment...."
I know. Crazy right? He has a gift! He has a fabulous book with loads of inspiration....if you are design lover you must get it...Click here to purchase.
As an interior designer who loves to inject color into my designed spaces, I found such inspiration from Justina Blakeney, another keynote speaker, whose blog, The Jungalow, is one of my daily reads.
A fellow color lover, her new book talks about how the colors that you are drawn to, are innate expressions of what earthly experiences you love.......i.e., water, sand, storms, seasons, etc... I love the colorful cover of the book -- it would look so great on a coffee table!
During her keynote speech, we were given a survey to answer questions about colors, situations and feelings, that helped determine what we are drawn to as individuals. I was a cross between...Desert....and Jungle. Being from Hawaii...I expected that! :)

And finally, near and dear to my heart, my fabulous photographer and friend, Kathryn MacDonald, who photographs all of my work for my portfolio, was a featured speaker with the fantastic designer, Grant Gibson. They spoke about the harmony of finding a simpatico relationship between designer and photographer -- and how, long standing collaborations with people who you trust and who trust you... can build your business.
Grant Gibson and Kathryn MacDonald have collaborated on a book that will be out this Fall:
The book is filled with design inspiration and some adorable photos of Grant's dog, Wesley, pictured above. After the presentation, I told Grant, that Wesley needs to meet my dog Myrtle.....
Don't you think they would be a cute match?
You can pre-order signed copies of Grant Gibson's book on his website -- click here. If you want to order directly from Amazon.com, click here.
I always love an interior design book on a coffee table -- any of these would be spectacular!
