Hi there! Spring has sprung and I am so excited that the days are longer and it's getting warmer! Woo hoo!
I wanted to share a fun little update that we did as part of the recent living room reveal project that I shared with you. Click here if you missed it.
My client had a chair that had been passed down in her family that she wanted included in the new design. During the design process, we lovingly named it 'the funky chair'. Here's a pic of it before:
I loved the lines of the chair and knew it would fit well in our design scheme as we were adding some vintage and retro pieces into the mix. All we needed to do was have the chair refinished in a rich tobacco color and reupholstered in a new fabric. We came up with a plan to include it in the design as a 'reading' chair positioned near the piano in front of a large window.
We selected this fabric from Robert Allen called Basket Beat in Denim for the chair:
Modern concrete accent tables and a vintage zebra found at a local antique shop rounded out the eclectic vibe that we were looking for....
I love how the concrete tables add a sleek background to the vintage books.
By changing the finish and the fabric, we were able to integrate the funky chair into this modern mix!
If you have a sentimental piece of furniture - reupholstery and refinishing can give it new life for your space! I hope this inspired you!
