Hi there! Thanks for dropping by!
Today I wanted to share a ‘before and after’ of another area in my home. It’s a funky little seating area right off of the kitchen. It has furniture and a piece of art that I inherited from my parents along with a teak bench that I purchased about 20 years ago.
Funny thing about that piece of art above the bench — my mom bought it in the 1970’s from an artist living near us in Hawaii. I was about 12 years old at the time, and when she brought it home, I said “Oh! The artist didn’t finish!!” See how the piece fades out on the right? I thought that was so funny way back then — but now I have a tremendous appreciation for it and for the artist, who has since become very well known.
Here is the before photo:
To update those vintage-y chairs (circa 1960’s!) I had them reupholstered in a fun fabric from Thibaut. (FYI- I carry the fabulous Thibaut fabric and wallpaper line in my studio!)
And then I mixed in these three other fabrics (also from Thibaut):
This graphic rug added a big pop to the small space:

And now this eclectic space filled with old and new feels a whole lot fresher!
