You guys, I was scrolling through my photos, and I found a project from a couple of years ago that has a fun original art story behind it!
This bath remodel project is still one of my favorites. Read the before and after blog post here. When I went to photograph the completed project, I picked up a pretty succulent from Trader Joe’s as a prop for the shoot.
And I left it with the homeowner when we were done. Well…a few weeks went by and a pretty little flower started to bloom — and the homeowner took a photo and sent it to me, and said “Look how pretty this is! It would make a beautiful painting!”
As you know, incorporating original art into my interior design projects is very important to me. And I love that my clients appreciate art too!
We decided to commission Bridgette Thornton, who paints stunning florals to create a piece especially for my client. (Bridgette’s work is also available in my design studio in Lafayette, CA.) After sending inspiration images to Bridgette, she worked up two options for us to review.
And guess what? My client ended up purchasing both options!
So that’s the story of how a bath remodel and a succulent inspired two beautiful works of art!
