Hi and welcome!
This is a recent interior design project that we completed - a bedroom for a young woman heading off to college! There are so many details about this room that I love and to share in one blog post would be too long....so I'm breaking it into two posts. Today I'm simply sharing the beautiful photos and some details about the room. In the next post, I'll discuss how the design decisions were made and why. So come back next week for Part II!
My client's daughter had outgrown her Pottery Barn trundle bed, and her room was filled with posters, art projects and knick knacks collected throughout the years. (I'm so bummed that I neglected to take a before picture of the room!)
Ready for a new sophisticated space that would welcome her home during college breaks, we created a polished and refined room that still allowed for comfort. My client's daughter specifically requested that we include white bedding and white walls -- and from there we layered in lavender and navy.
The cream velvet bed added a tonal layer of luxury to the crisp white bed linens from Annie Selke. A custom bolster pillow from Madeline Weinrib and a cashmere throw from Williams Sonoma Home added pops of color.
The side tables have a linen lacquered finish which added some subtle texture to the space. I love the brass details!!
That rug is one of my favorites...a beautiful custom made flat weave from Madeline Weinrib - the lavender is so pretty! We added a navy swivel chair and leather ottoman for lounging by the window. The chandelier added a bit of bling and is so feminine!
I'm grateful that this project was recently featured in California Home & Design. Woo hoo!
Stay tuned for more details about the room in the next blog post!
