Hi there! Happy Fall! This time of year, when the days start becoming shorter, I tend to start thinking about how to inject a little brightness into my home (and into my client's homes). And of course, I lean toward happy colors and artful ways to include them.
Here are three of my favorite ways to inject color into your interior design:
1. Lamps
(Lamps sourced from Lulu and Georgia)
Pink, of course, is my go-to color -- but there are so many colorful and happy lamps out there. In addition to Lulu & Georgia, I love sourcing lamps from Furbish Studio, All Modern and Jana Bek Designs.
2. Throws
(Throws sourced from One Kings Lane)
A colorful throw placed on a sofa or tossed at the bottom of a bed, can add a happy dose of color to your space. Who doesn't love snuggling under one of these while watching TV?
3. Little splashes of Art
(Art from Lisa Daria Gallery)
Art brings joy. I cannot express that enough when talking to my clients about interior design. If you follow me on instagram, you'll see I frequently spotlight artists that I love, and whose works inspire me. Lisa Daria Kennedy is an artist who paints a painting a day....I purchased one for $100. It's sized 6"x6" and I move it around my house -- sometimes it's leaning on my mantle, sometimes next to my bed or in my entry or on my desk. (Read more about her here -- she is a young woman and a cancer survivor and her story is very inspiring).
4. Fresh Flowers
I always have fresh flowers or plants in my home -- they inject a sunny spirit into your home decor!
I'm currently obsessed with Farmgirl Flowers -- their bouquets are wrapped in reused burlap coffee bags and flowers are sourced in U.S. -- affordably priced and totally unique! Check them out here.
